Why this platform exists, and how it works
Birega started from a simple observation: the gap between what warehouse automation vendors present and what logistics managers actually need to decide on is wide, and getting wider as more categories launch each year.
Where the idea came from
Warehouse automation coverage tends to fall into two camps. Vendor material, which understandably emphasizes best-case outcomes. And trade press, which covers announcements more than long-term results. Neither one is built for the person who has to make a capital request to a finance committee and then live with the outcome for the next five years.
Birega sits between those two. We read the vendor material, follow integrator forums, track procurement discussions, and try to describe what a given technology tends to look like once it's running in a facility that isn't a showcase site.
Facility layout comes before technology choice
We start every review with the physical constraints, ceiling height, aisle width, dock count, before discussing any specific vendor or platform.
A few working rules we hold ourselves to
No paid placement
Vendors do not pay to be featured, ranked, or discussed favorably in field notes or course material.
Both sides of a category
When a technology has a reasonable case for and against, we try to present the tension rather than settle it artificially.
Findings get revisited
A category assessed as immature two years ago may no longer be. We date our field notes and update them as the picture changes.
Scale is always specified
We avoid blanket statements about a technology being appropriate. We say for whom, at what footprint, under what conditions.
